How to Replace the Burner on a Kenmore Electric Countertop Glass-Top Stove
- 1). Shut off the electricity to the Kenmore range at the circuit breaker.
- 2). Pull open the oven door to locate the screws on the upper edge of the door frame. Take out these screws with a screwdriver.
- 3). Lift the glass top with both hands and prop it up with the wooden dowel between the top of the Kenmore and the bottom of the glass top.
- 4). Detach the screws holding the metal bowl over the element to be replaced. Lift off the bowl, which is an insulated support bracket for the element.
- 5). Disconnect the burner element from the electrical socket by pulling straight out. Plug in the new burner in the same position.
- 6). Attach the metal bowl over the new burner with the screws.
- 7). Take out the wooden dowel and lower the glass surface to the top of the Kenmore with both hands.
- 8). Secure the top to the front panel of the appliance with screws in the underside of the door frame. Shut the oven door.
- 9). Switch on the circuit breaker to restore power to the Kenmore.
