How to Wash Out Cat Urine
- 1). Blot up the mess. You want to make sure that you remove as much of the urine as possible before starting to clean. Using an old rag or paper towels, go over the spot several times, until you cannot take up any more urine.
- 2). Mix equal parts of vinegar and water. Pour this solution over the stained area, making sure that it seeps down deep into the carpet or fabric. Then, blot up the moisture as much as possible.
- 3). Sprinkle baking soda over the spot. Use about a handful to completely cover the area.
- 4). Mix the hydrogen peroxide with the liquid dish soap. Use a quarter cup of peroxide with a teaspoon of soap. Pour the mixture over the baking soda and work it into the stain using a brush. Allow the spot to dry completely.
- 5). Vacuum the area. This will pull up all of the baking soda and take the odor with it.
