How to Make a Teddy Bear Out of Paper

    • 1). Open the seams of the brown paper grocery bag. Lay the paper bag on your ironing surface and iron the bag flat. Trace the teddy bear shape on the back of the brown paper grocery bag. Trace the teddy bear shape on the paper side of the iron on fusible web. Lay the novelty fabric on your ironing surface and iron removing all wrinkles and creases. Place the novelty fabric wrong side up and iron the fusible web to the back of the fabric. Cut out the fused fabric teddy bear shape. Peel the paper backing from the fused fabric teddy bear and place glue side down on the drawn teddy bear on the brown paper grocery bag. Iron the fused fabric teddy bear to the brown paper grocery bag. Cut the teddy bear out.

    • 2). Place the cut-out teddy bear face up on top of the brown paper grocery bag. Make sure the advertising on the bag is on the inside of the paper teddy bear. Top stitch the teddy bear together using a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Leave a 3-inch opening on one side of the paper teddy bear. Cut the back of the paper teddy bear out.

    • 3). Fill the brown paper grocery bag teddy bear through the 3-inch opening using the stuffing. Because the brown paper grocery bag is not flexible, use the dowel to poke the stuffing into the arms, legs and head of the paper teddy bear. Do not over-stuff the paper teddy bear. Top stitch the 3-inch opening closed.

    • 4). Cut an 18-inch length of ribbon. Tie the ribbon around the teddy bear's neck and form a bow. Trim the ends of the bow.
