How to Program an Auto Alarm Remote
- 1). Place the car in Park and turn the ignition switch to the On or Run position.
- 2). Press and hold the Unlock button on the programmed auto alarm remote transmitter. Check the manual: it's often for a specific time, like for at least 4, but no longer than 10 seconds. While pressing the unlock button, press and hold the Panic button for at least a second.
- 3). Release both buttons and the device will chime to let you know it is in programming mode.
- 4). Press and release the lock and unlock buttons together and then any other button on the un-programmed remote. Press any button on the original transmitter. The new remote will chime to indicate that it's programmed.
- 5). Turn the ignition switch to the Lock position.
- 1). Cut an additional key to match the ignition switch lock code.
- 2). Insert the first valid key into the ignition. Turn the switch to the On position for the specified time. Again, see the manual. Turn the switch to the Lock position and remove the key.
- 3). Insert the second valid key into the ignition. Turn the switch to the On position. After a few seconds a single chime will sound. Turn the switch to the Lock position and remove the second key.
- 4). Insert a blank key. Turn the switch to the On position; after a few seconds the chime will sound. The key is now programmed. The RKE is also programmed.
