How to Keep Your Radio Settings in Your Car
- 1). Sit in your driver's seat and turn on your vehicle to power the radio. Locate your preset buttons, which are usually numbered one through six just below the radio display.
- 2). Use your tuner button to turn to the radio station you want to save. Once you've found it, decide which preset button you want to save it to.
- 3). Hold the numbered preset button down and don't let pressure off. Wait until you hear a "beep," which signifies that the radio station has been saved. Some radios may not "beep," but watch the display -- once the station is saved, the radio station will blink and return to normal, meaning the station is saved.
- 4). Press your "AM/FM" button. You may be able to save additional stations. If you press the button and the radio display reads "FM1" or "FM2" next to your station before switching to AM radio, you can save additional stations.
- 5). Pay attention to where you're saving your stations. If you saved your stations under "FM1," changing to "FM2" will clear out all saved stations so that you can save six more; follow the same procedure.
- 6). Press the "AM/FM" button again to return to any previously saved "FM" presets.
