- 1). Open up the door which contains the damaged window. Find the screws which hold the door panel onto the door. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws. Place them in a safe area, as you will need to reattach them when you reconnect the door panel. Remove the screws from the door handle and pull it away from the door.
- 2). Reach into the hole left by the removed door handle and disconnect the linkage arm which holds the door handle assembly in place.
- 3). Use a wrench to remove the bolts fixed to the backing plate. Lift the backing plate off to gain access to the window regulator.
- 4). Remove the bolts which fix the window to the regulator using a hex wrench. Lift the window out of the door frame. Take care not to cut your hands or damage your door frame as you remove it.
- 5). Insert a new window into the door frame. Fix the window securely in place and reattach the door assembly by following the removal steps in reverse.
