The Portillo
Skiing enthusiasts come from around the world to enjoy the Andes skiing experience at Portillo, which has hosted World Cup ski races. Just a two-hour drive from Santiago, Portillo boasts a long history of 65 years, and special ski packages are available, including group lessons, and even activities for non-skiers who are just along for the vacation. The motel at Portillo is all-inclusive and serves four meals a day. There are many nearby attractions as well, including guided tours through the Andes desert.

Volcan Villarrica Ski Center
Visitors to this ski resort can enjoy this small resort located only 12 km from Pucon. As the name states, the slopes at the Volcan Villarrica Ski Center are unique in that they are on the side of a volcano. Though the lifts can be slow, the slopes offer advanced skiers plenty of challenges with its steeps and halfpipes. Tired skiers can enjoy relaxing at the nearby Club Los Ulmos and Hotel del Lago hotels.

Navados de Chillan
Fifteen percent of the slopes of Navados de Chillan are set up for beginner level skiers, but with 20 runs, even expert skiers can find hills that will challenge them. For those who have had their fill of skiing for the day, a lovely resort casino is on site with all of the amenities of home and more. Skiers can relax and warm up after a day's skiing in the soothing waters of the resort's natural outdoor thermal pools. The resort also includes a spa to treat even the most finicky travelers.
