How to Make a Pharaoh Mask Out of Paper
- 1). Place your paper plate in the center of a sheet of gold card stock a trace around it with a pencil. Draw a bell shape around the circle you just sketched. It should stick out about 5 inches on each side of the plate at the widest point. This will be the headdress for the mask.
- 2). Cut out the headdress using scissors. Cut out the center of the circle you traced from your plate, leaving a 1-inch border inside the circle.
- 3). Cut out two eye holes from the paper plate. Face the plate face upside-down and paint the back of it with gold craft paint. Paint a blue outline around the eye holes and use blue paint to sketch the outline of the nose and lips.
- 4). Paint a layer of glue around the border of the circle you cut from the headdress. Place the plate over it with the painted side facing up so the rim of the plate sits over the glued border. Press down gently around the rim of the plate with your fingers and let it dry.
- 5). Cut a triangular shape from gold card stock and glue it, pointing down, on the chin of the mask to make a beard.
- 6). Cut strips of blue paper and glue them onto the headdress around the mask for decoration.
