How to Make a Crown Sinnet
- 1). Place four cords horizontally on your table. Wrap one end with removable tape or rubber band. Leave the opposite ends open.
- 2). Separate the four cords to form an "X" pattern, with the wrapped end at the center of the "X." To make this project, refer to each cord as the upper right, lower right, upper left and lower left cords.
- 3). Take the lower right cord and loop it loosely over the upper right.
- 4). Take the upper right cord end and loop it loosely over the upper left. An over and under weaving pattern appears as you continue looping the ends. Do not pull the ends to knot.
- 5). Take the upper left cord end and loop it loosely over the lower left to complete weaving the first crown knot. At this point, the over and under weave is loose and open.
- 6). Pull the ends of the first crown knot to tighten. Continue to pull until the crown sits around the wrapped ends. The cord ends remain in the "X" pattern.
- 7). Take the lower right cord and loop it loosely over the lower left. You will start repeating the weaving process in reverse.
- 8). Take the lower left cord and loop it loosely over the upper left.
- 9). Take the upper left cord and loop it loosely over the upper right cord. The weave appears open once again.
- 10
Pull the ends to tighten the second crown. Continue to pull until the crown sits around the first crown. The cord ends remain in the "X" pattern. - 11
Continue to repeat Steps 3 through 10, alternating the weaving process and tightening each segment until you reach the desired length for the crown sinnet. As an option, remove the taping or band from the wrapped end to attach closures for a bracelet or self-tie the ends.
