    I Spy Christmas Card

    • 1). Gather together items and family photos that represent each member of the family and things you've done over the past year. Familyfun.go.com recommends gathering items like ballet slippers and sports trophies.

    • 2). Take photos of the items using a digital camera, and upload the photos into your computer. Repeat these first two steps photographing holiday decorations.

    • 3). Gather digital family photos that represent things your family has done over the past year. For printed pictures, carefully scan them into the computer.

    • 4). Use a word processing program to create your family's I Spy Photo card. Choose a folding card template as a starting point for your card's design. On the cover panel, layer together family photos, photos of holiday decorations and photos of important family items. Create a collage design by overlapping photos.

    • 5). On the inside panel, include a holiday greeting and the instructions for the I Spy game. Encourage card recipients to "spy" the items that you've included in the card's photo collage.

    • 6). Print out the card using photo paper and a photo printer. Print out as many copies as necessary, or take the card to a local copy shop to have color copies made.

    Paper Airplane Card

    • 1). Fold a single sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper into a paper airplane. Start at the top of the paper and fold into triangles toward the center of the paper. They should be about ¼ of the length of the paper. Fold the paper in half lengthwise so that triangles are on the inside of the paper. Hold the paper so the folded edge is at the bottom and the pointed end faces to the right. From the open edge, fold a flap back to the folded edge to form the wing. Repeat on the opposite side.

    • 2). Color the outside of the paper airplane using different colors, as recommended by Tom Hoehn on the Kodak website. This helps form a template for your card's design. Unfold the paper.

    • 3). Create a template using a photo design program like Photoshop. Use the paper airplane as a guide to the areas on the template that correspond with the colored areas of your plane.

    • 4). Cover the shaded areas with photos of your family and family events. Tom Hoehn recommends devoting one panel of the plane to each family member. Overlap photos to create a collage effect. Fill in the blank space with colors or a simple graphic. This step is completely optional and allows you to customize your airplane card. Print the completed airplane design onto photo paper using a photo printer. Print as many copies as necessary, or have them color copied at a local copy shop. Leave the airplanes flat.

    • 5). Create a tag that expresses a holiday greeting and outlines the airplane folding instructions using a word processing program. Print out your greeting and instruction cards. Print as many copies as necessary, or have them color copied at a local copy shop. Hole-punch one corner of the airplane design and the card. Tie the two pieces together with ribbon.
