How to Make Play People Out of Pipe Cleaners
- 1). Insert the end of one pipe cleaner into one of the larger buttons and push the button along the pipe cleaner until it is almost in the center of the pipe cleaner. Insert the same end of the pipe cleaner back down the other hole of the button.
- 2). Pull up the loop of pipe cleaner above the button to make the loop approximately 1/2-inch high and twist the loop two or three times to secure it. Twist the pipe cleaner ends coming down out of the button around each other two times. These will be the pipe cleaner person's legs.
- 3). Insert the second pipe cleaner through the loop you created above the button, move the pipe cleaner so the center point of the pipe cleaner sits at the loop and twist the pipe cleaner around the loop to secure it. Make this pipe cleaner horizontal as the arms of the person.
- 4). Insert the end of another pipe cleaner into the other large button and push the button along the pipe cleaner in the same fashion as you did in step 1. Insert the same end of the pipe cleaner back down the other hole of the button.
- 5). Pull up the loop of pipe cleaner above the button, this time making the loop larger to become the head of the person. Attach the head to the pipe cleaner person by twisting the pipe cleaner ends below the button around the center portion of the person.
- 6). Continue twisting the rest of the pipe cleaner around the center body. You now have a person with a head, a body, two arms and two legs.
- 7). Place a small button onto the ends of the pipe cleaner legs and push the button approximately 1 inch from the end of the pipe cleaner. Loop the end of the pipe cleaner back around through the other button hole and bend the end of the pipe cleaner up just on the other side of the button to make a foot. Repeat the same process with the other pipe cleaner leg and another small button.
- 8). Clip off approximately 2 inches from the ends of the pipe cleaner person's arms with the fingernail clippers. Attach the remaining two buttons to the ends of the arms to make hands in the same fashion as you placed the buttons on the legs.
