- 1). Open your Internet browser and navigate to your phone provider's website.
- 2). Select "Home Phone," then choose the "Support" feature. Under Support there is an option for changing your home phone number. Click on this option.
- 3). Open the provided request form, then type in all listed information. Submit the order form; you are either presented with a date selection for when the service is to take place, or you receive a phone call from the company, telling you when your new phone number is to become available. The company typically selects the new phone number for you from a list of available numbers.
- 4). Request a new telephone number number over the phone. Contact your home phone service provider and speak to a customer service representative. Request a new phone number, then give the customer service agent all the requested information.
