It is winter - the holiday season. It doesn't matter in what you believe or from what country you are, there are plenty of holidays for you to chose from. During these days a lot of your relatives will be be visiting, or you will be the guest of honour. In the first case you will have to be prepared for all the relatives and friends. You probably did a pre-holiday clean up, but the real mess is always after.

So your parents and grandparents decided to stop by and stay for the whole weekend. It is a good thing that you have a few extra rooms, which you only use during these occasions. After your family has left the premises, some of your friends, decided to come for a couple of nights. And your home was the perfect choice, because it's big enough. You had fun, but unlike your relatives, your friends didn't clean much after themselves.

Now your last day, before going back to work, will be spent cleaning the whole house. Here are some tips for after holiday cleaning.

Start with all the dirty sheets and table covers. This way they will be ready for about forty minutes and while they are being washed, you can do some other chores. One part of the bedrooms is ready - the beds. Let's start cleaning the rest. You don't need to clean the curtains, because there was no smoking in these rooms. You can just use the vacuum cleaner and dust the furniture.

Let's move to the harder-to-clean places. The living room got most of the damage. This is the space which you used every single day and night. There are coffee and wine stains on the carpet. Some smokers left burnt marks on the couch. The curtains have changed their colours thanks to cigarettes users. Start with the curtains, for the same reason as the sheets. Wash them separately, because unlike the covers, curtains must not be spin-cycled. Continue with dusting and washing the furniture. Cigarette smoke could ruin the upholstery of your couch, so get a detergent and warm water, and start scrubbing. Do this with a brush and wring it before scrubbing, because you don't want the water to ruin everything. After you are done, change the soapy water with clean and repeat the process.

A general rule is to finish the cleaning of every room with vacuuming the floor. It is only logical. While taking care of the furniture and windows, the carpet will become even dirtier. And that's why you clean it at the end. The kitchen is the next place you should clean. Your main tool here is the cloth. Get a clean rag with some furniture detergent and start scrubbing. Clean the table, cupboards, sink and every other smooth surface. Use a mop and clean the floor.

The bathroom is always unpleasant, but it has to be done. Use gloves, a scrub and detergent for the faence and terracotta. You will need warm water with that. It is very simple, just scrub all the surfaces, until they are clean. For the toilet you can use some special cleansers and hot water.

And if you really don't want to clean, but to relax, yo should consider hiring professionals. The capital of England provides so many companies for you. Some London end of tenancy cleaners which offer house cleaning or other services will be more than happy to help you... after you pay them. You'll save a day or two.
