5 Basketball Workout Drills That Will Elevate Your Game in a Week

When doing Basketball Workouts to become a pro basketball player, you have to train on different skills. Training everyday with various Basketball Workouts puts you ahead of 95 percent of the competition. There are tons of drills to do on a daily basis and you can pick your own drills and see what gives you faster results. For me, that's what I did and I'm going to share with today what 5 Basketball Workout drills that worked, and had me playing pro in no time, making good money.

One arm shooting Warm-Up

When you get into the gym you are usually use to shooting shots without any goal on how much to make, or where to shoot from, or even how to warm up. Well when I was at a lecture at the University of Connecticut Basketball Camp the speaker was the shooting doctor who worked with tons of pros like Jordan and Gilbert arenas. He said before you start your Basketball Workout you should stand three feet from the basket and shoot one-arm jumpers, focusing on making all nets. If it touches the rim it doesn't count, and I tell you this guy did not hit the rim once. So the rest of the week I did the things he taught and later that night I went to play pick up with the team and for sure... I couldn't miss. I put on a unbelievable performance and everyone asked why didn't I try to play here at University of Connecticut This day I would never forget so the rest of my career I made sure I did 25 makes from both wings and in front of the basket, standing 3 feet away. 250 to 500 makes in a day

So after I was done doing one hand shots in my Basketball Workouts, which I start Monday, and I will make sure to do it everyday till Friday, because we want the best results in as little as a week. I will begin putting up shots from different spots on the court, which I am aiming for 250 to 500 makes. I start from one side of the wing and move to the other side of the wing. After I do mid range shots I will move to three pointers, then to NBA three pointers. Now you can switch your Basketball Workout up and do shots off the dribble or go to the whole for floaters. Either way you are working on repetition, which is the most important thing when it comes to developing a skill in a Basketball Workout. And that goes for just about any skill..

Core exercises

now when I'm in the weight room I try to train there everyday doing different Basketball Workouts. If you're going to be a pro you will have to do it to. What I would do in my Basketball Workout is core exercise 3 to 4 times a week. I would aim for at least 200 to 300 core reps. I figured If NBA players focus on it so much and their extremely athletic then why shouldn't I. So I incorporated it in my regimen and after a week I added an inch or two on my vertical. Now I tell all my players they have to train the core in their Basketball Workouts to reach there full ability on the court.

Ball handling

Now before you shoot or after, you need to include ball handling drills in your Basketball Workouts just as much as you shoot, Even if your a big man you should work on your ball handling. I saw Blake Griffin and other NBA big men training their handles in a Basketball Workout on a You Tube video, so if they are doing it then what should you is doing? Right. So what you would do is pick some two ball dribbling drills to do, and everyday dribble the ball you're hardest and the fastest, always keep your heads up, and be persistent because they can be a little difficult at first. Do this the whole week and watch and feel your handle feel so much tighter. The feeling is amazing. Squat jumps

Now when your in the gym or weight room you need to do some type of squat exercise where you are exploding upward. You want it to be the hardest you can jump and explode focusing on getting better and better each jump in your Basketball Workout. Do this and watch you hops get better in just a week. I do all of these Basketball Workout drills and I feel they are some of the most important drills to do. I guarantee you results! because it worked for me. So focus on doing jumps 3 to 4 times a week.

Now combine all if these drills and start Monday and by Friday watch how your game feels. It's a great feeling when you feel you strengthen a skill and it was a skill you never had.
