103 101
Parents can play an essential role in making their child to learn to share.
Children are generally possessive and as they grow they tend to share their things.
"Whenever, my daughter asks for a toy or any other stuff from her elder brother, he simply refuses.
" This is one of the most common concerns among parents.
But, there is no need to worry, as it is natural.
Young children are often not ready to share their stuff, but parents can encourage them to do so.
You should not expect a child below three years to share his/her belongings.
Interestingly, children can share someone else's things easily; when it is their own they tend to be too possessive.
Here are some significant steps to encourage sharing in your child:
  • As all of us know that Parents are the best teachers, so act as a role model for your child.
Start sharing with your child and he/she will soon understand its worth.
Moreover, the child will soon enjoy sharing with others.
  • Start lessons for sharing at a very young age.
For instance, motivate your child to play with some other child and share his/her toys.
Later, praise your child for sharing his/her toy and describe how his/her friend felt about it.
  • You must act as a friendly guide to your child.
Whenever your child demands a toy, which his/her friend had then get some other one.
Get that toy to your child after some time and he/she will learn to wait.
  • While you encourage sharing habit in your child, you must have patience.
Expecting instant generous behaviour from your child would be too much to expect.
Give your child some time to grow and understand.
It would be advisable not to punish your child if he/she does not share.
Try these tips with your child and you will soon find your child growing up fine.
