- 1). Download iTunes (see Resources). Once you've put your digital music library onto iTunes, you can create a playlist for the CD you plan on burning.
- 2). Go to "File" and select the top option, "New Playlist." Drag the songs you want on CD from your music library into the new folder on the left-hand column.
- 3). Click the "Burn Disc" box in the bottom right corner of iTunes. A prompt will ask you how fast you want to burn the disc and what format you want to burn it in. Set the speed at the maximum setting, make sure it's set to "Audio CD" and then click the "Burn" box.
- 4). Insert a blank CD into your computer's disc drive after you've clicked "Burn." The disc will automatically be recognized by iTunes and the burn will commence. To be safe, use CD-Rs for burning audio CDs. They have the smallest margin of error. The burning process will take a few minutes, depending on how many songs you put on. When it's finished, the disc will automatically eject and you can listen to it right away.
