- 1). Place a block on your phone for restricted calls. Try dialing *77 to activate anonymous call blocker on a land line (contact your cell phone company to see if they offer this option). When you block restricted calls, the caller receives a message stating that you do not accept anonymous calls. Callers will have to un-restrict their number to call you, which will then appear on your caller ID.
- 2). Pick up the phone then ask the person for her telephone number so that you can call back. If the restricted call is from a business, they should be willing to give you their number.
- 3). Check your phone records at the end of the month. Restricted calls that show up as "restricted" on your caller ID may be listed on your bill at the end of the month with a number.
- 4). Purchase an 800 number then give out that number instead of your usual telephone number. Calls to 800 numbers cannot be blocked.
