Because we live such stressful lives, learning how to meditate has been increasingly popular over time.
But achieving the mental state of deep meditation is something that can take years of practice.

Start off by sitting in a chair with our feet flat on the floor.
Keep your arms at your side or on your lap.
Do not lean back into your chair.
Instead sit up.
This way you will not fall asleep.
Then close your eyes.
Once they are closed, focus on your hand.
Hold it up just a little, just so you are not touching anything.
Ask yourself, how you would know your hand is there without looking at it or touching anything.
Try to feel the inner feeling or knowing that your hand is actually there.
Feel the aliveness of it.
Once you are there, you can put your hand down.
Hold that state as long as possible.
If you lose it, do not beat up on yourself about it.
Just start back from the beginning.
Rinse and repeat.
At first you may only be able to hold this state for a few seconds.
But by following this routine you will learn how to meditate.
Your will progress to being able to hold this state for minutes in no time.
You may even eventually move up to hours.
You now know a simple technique that can bring your meditation practice to a whole new level.
It is recommended that you do this for a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes daily.
