How to Use My TV as a Default Monitor
- 1). Place your unplugged TV to the left of your second default monitor.
- 2). Plug the S-Video end of the S-Video to RCA cable into your computer's S-Video port on the back of the computer.
- 3). Plug the opposite end of the S-Video to RCA cable into your television's composite video input jack. This is a yellow jack located on the side or back of your TV. Some TVs have video jacks on the front as well.
- 4). Change the video input on your TV to display your computer. Press the "Input" or "Source" button on your remote until you reach the video input to which your computer is connected.
- 5). Click the "Start" menu and "Control Panel."
- 6). Type "Monitors" in the search box and click the "Set up computer to use multiple monitors" link. You'll see images of two monitor screens under "Change the appearance of your displays."
- 7). Look at the bottom of your TV screen. If you don't see the "Start" menu in the bottom-left corner, your TV is set to the secondary monitor. Drag the monitor labeled "2" to the left of the monitor labeled "1" to set your TV as the primary monitor.
