- 1). Brush the hair to remove any tangles and debris and to loosen styling product. Wet the hair thoroughly using warm water until it is completely saturated.
- 2). Squeeze a nickel-sized amount of shampoo onto the palm of your hand, rub your hands together to distribute the shampoo evenly on both palms, and distribute the shampoo evenly throughout the hair. Massage the scalp using your fingertips and rinse. Condition your hair in the same manner.
- 3). Put on gloves. Open the nozzle on the temporary color rinse and apply the rinse directly to the wet hair. Use your hands and fingers to work the rinse throughout the hair. Saturate the hair completely with the rinse.
- 4). Dry the hair completely to set the color. If you normally set your hair in rollers, roll the hair and then dry it. If you use a curling iron, dry the hair completely before styling.
