103 31
Right now everyone is screaming how the economy is so bad and they cannot make any money.
While this may be true for a lot of people who had their jobs ripped right out from under them and now have no career to fall back to, those who took advantage of the opportunity to venture into a sales job right now may have made a fabulous choice.
Yes, it is true that many companies have turned to commission only sales to try and drive their businesses, and with some of these commissions being quite generous; the right person could make a lot of money selling.
If you have the right demeanor, and know your product well, your chances of making sales and potentially have the ability to make a lot of money will be much higher than the uncouth Neanderthal or the shady fast talker who knows nothing about the thing he is selling.
If you seem trustworthy, explain to people your product or service in great detail, and can offer them exact pricing, you are a professional sales person.
On the other hand, you may not make a lot of money if you do not study your product or service well enough to answer questions about it, if you only have catchy phrases and no substance to your presentation, and come across as untrustworthy or trying to get over on the prospective buyer.
You have to learn the art of sales, and know when to push harder and when to back off.
One way to make a lot of money in sales is to use the soft cell approach with customers.
This is especially effective in today's super competitive market.
If you come across as too bold, too in your face, and smothering a prospective buyer, you probably won't be very successful.
The soft cell makes them feel less threatened by you and will eventually gain their trust with your laid back approach.
Then, when you know it is the right time, you start pressing a little more on the closing of the sale.
Ultimately you could make a lot of money in sales if you have the right drive, patience with buyers who are tighter with their money than usual, and can maintain providing what you claim to be able to deliver to the customer.
This will build clientele for yourself later on, and continue to increase your sales.
