- 1). Check that your system has the minimum requirements to run Adobe Flash CS3 Professional. These can be found either on the back of the software box or on the Adobe website (see Resources). A few requirements are: at least 1 GB of RAM, 3.5 GB of hard drive space and Windows XP/Vista or Mac OSX 10.4.11 to 10.5.4.
- 2). Close all Adobe programs as well as any browsers or programs that use Flash. This is necessary because the installation will update all Flash files on the computer. Insert the installation DVD once all programs are closed.
- 3). Open the DVD if it does not start automatically, by right-clicking the disk icon in "My Computer" or Finder and selecting "Open." Scroll through the files until you find "Setup.exe." Double-click this to begin installation. If you downloaded the program, open the installation folder and double-click the "Setup.exe" file.
- 4). Follow the on-screen instructions, selecting "Next" to move through the menu. Leave the destination as default or change to another drive by clicking "Browse." Once on the last screen, click "Finish" to complete installation. Adobe Flash CS3 will boot automatically.
- 5). Enter your serial code when prompted (located in the user booklet or in the downloaded file). You have up to 30 days to enter this code. You can enter the serial either by clicking the button on the left of the start-up screen. This will take you to the Adobe website. Enter your serial into the field box marked "Serial Number" and click "Activate." The other option is to activate Flash over the phone. Call the displayed phone number (866-772-3623) and follow the instructions.
