Material of the Bag

• Every Gucci bag is make of leather and is perfectly cut. No obvious errors should be seen in the bag's exterior. Look inside the bag around the zip pocket; the material should be the same inside and out. The stitching should be uniform throughout the bag.
  
  

Controllato Card

• All authentic Gucci bags have a "controllato," Italian for "checked," card in them. This is part of Gucci's continuous control system that ensures a bag is authentic for its purchasers. Compare the font and placement of the card to other authentic bags, either in-person or on the Internet. The brand name "Gucci" will be in all capital letters and will be centered with a gray background. "Controllato" will be printed below the brand name in lowercase and also centered. Numbers will be posted underneath and centered as well. A knockoff will have improper background on the "controllato" card and/or noncentered text.
  
  

Serial-Tag Number

• A serial tag is the most important feature when buying a designer bag. The serial tag number in an authentic Gucci bag will be found inside the bag below the zipper pocket. If the bag does not have a zipper pocket, it will be found stitched where a pocket would be inside. The tag should have a capital R within a circle. "Gucci Made in Italy" is another phrase that ensures the bag is authentic. All serial tags are leather and list the style or model number of the bag.
  
  

Dust Bag

• All Gucci purses include a dust bag with a drawstring. The two available dust bags given to purchasers are ones with a GG logo, in which one of the Gs is upside down; or ones with the name "Gucci" written in gold across the front. Both bags have an interior "Gucci Made In Italy" stamp as well.
