Harmony 1000 Vs. Harmony 1000I
- The Logitech Harmony 1000/1000i is designed as a universal remote, meaning it can be programmed to operate a variety of consumer electronics devices. The 1000, in particular, can control up to 15 devices, thus eliminating remotes for home entertainment components such as TVs, DVD or Blu-ray players, CD players and PCs. Also, the Harmony 1000 is compatible with the products of dozens of manufacturers.
- Users can hook up the Harmony 1000/1000i to a computer to set it up for its control functions. The remote has Logitech's patented Smart State technology, which makes it possible to control devices with just a single touch; it can do so without direct line-of-sight since it sends both infrared and radio frequency.
- The Logitech Harmony 1000/1000i is three inches thick and 12 inches long, with a diagonal measurement of eight inches. The remote control weighs three pounds, and has a 3 1/2-inch full-color touch screen.
- Included with the remote control is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a charging station, USB cable, AC adapter, installation CD, and quick-start and features guides. The remote comes with a one-year limited hardware warranty.
- The Harmony 1000 has been discontinued. Its replacement, the Harmony 1100, has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $400. The Harmony 1000, however, can be purchased at outlets such as Amazon for around $260.
