How to Create Frame-by-Frame Animations in Fireworks
- 1). Open the Frames Inspector when creating a new animation in Fireworks by opening a new movie and setting the canvas settings to 500 pixels for width and 500 pixels for height then selecting the Frames Inspector option.
- 2). Sketch your animation out on paper manually so you know how you want to design each frame. This saves time in the long run.
- 3). Add images to the first frame according to your initial sketches. Take note of the number of frames you want to add after the first frame.
- 4). Select "Add Frames" from the Frames Properties and add the number of frames you planned in Step 3. Choose "Frame 2" from the Frames Inspector.
- 5). Copy images from frame one that you want to see in frame two by selecting Frame 1 and choosing "Copy" (Ctrl-C) then selecting Frame 2 and choosing "Paste" (Ctrl-V).
- 6). Continue working in the frames until you complete the sequence you sketched out in Step 2.
- 7). Look at the bottom right hand corner of your program when your frames are complete and click on the white arrow, which is the "Play" button.
- 8). Save your frames by clicking the "Export File Format" dropdown menu. Click on "Animated GIF" and then choose "File" and "Export." Specify the location on your hard drive where you want to save your Fireworks animation and save.
