    How Mirapex Works

    • Individuals with Parkinson's disease have a lack of dopamine (a natural chemical found in the brain), resulting in abnormal nerve stimulation, causing a decreased ability to control body movement or functioning. Mirapex is a dopamine agonist, and works by binding to dopamine receptors, stimulating them as the natural dopamine chemical would.

    Warnings and Precautions

    • Individuals taking Mirapex need to understand the potential for increased drowsiness and sleepiness. Driving a car, operating machinery or drinking alcohol is not advised when first starting the medication.

    Talk To Your Doctor
