Side Effects of Ambien 10
- Some people taking Ambien 10 will experience mild side effects, including dry mouth, headaches, nausea, sluggishness, stomach upset, nose or throat irritation, diarrhea, dizziness and drowsiness, including drowsiness in the daytime.
- In rare cases, people taking Ambien 10 may develop serious side effects that may indicate a potential complication that may require medical treatment. If you experience any of the following, stop taking the medication and contact your doctor immediately: vision changes; chest pain; mental or mood changes; severe dizziness; shortness of breath; decreased coordination; difficulty breathing or swallowing; a fast or irregular heartbeat; fainting; hallucinations; abnormal thinking; confusion; memory problems; behavior changes; or suicidal thoughts or actions.
- As with all medications, in rare cases people may have an allergic reaction to Ambien 10. Signs of a severe allergic reaction include wheezing, hives, chest tightness, difficulty breathing and swelling of the face, throat, tongue and lips. Because people experiencing a severe allergic reaction can go into shock, immediate medical attention is necessary.
- Ambien 10 is not safe for all people, including people with liver conditions; lung or breathing problems such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; metabolism problems; heart of blood pressure problems; and a condition called myasthenia gravis. In addition, people with a history of mental or mood problems such as depression or suicidal thoughts or behaviors should not take Ambien 10. People who have a history of alcohol or substance abuse or children and adolescents who have been treated for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder should not take Ambien 10. It is also not safe for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- As with many medications, Ambien 10 is known to cause interactions with some other drugs. Ambien may not be as effective when taken with rifampin. People are also more likely to experience Ambien 10's side effects when also taking HIV protease inhibitors, sodium oxybate or ketoconazole.
