How to Knit a Scarf With Different Wools
- 1). Gather all the wools you have and put them in a pile. Look at the thickness of each wool. Discard any that are very thin or very thick compared to the rest of the group.
- 2). Choose one of the wools and use your favorite cast on technique to cast on 20 stitches. Knit one row across. Turn your work and purl back to the beginning.
- 3). Continue working in stockinette stitch, knitting one row and purling the next, until you run out of wool. For best results, stop at the end of a row, not at the middle even if it means you have a few extra feet of wool leftover. Cut the wool end to about 12 inches.
- 4). Add the next wool and continue to alternate knit and purl rows until you run out, then add the next color.
- 5). When you have used all the wools you have or the scarf is the length you want it to be, cast off using your favorite technique. Weave in the loose yarn ends from each wool, then wear or store your scarf as desired.
