Wilkerson Doubtful, Harvin questionable and complete injury report
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan was hopeful, optimistic even that defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson would be able to suit up for the team this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
But it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
Friday afternoon, Wilkerson was extremely limited again in New York's final practice before its matchup with the Titans as he works his way back from a turf toe. On the Jets final and official injury report, Wilkerson is listed as 'Doubtful' for Sunday, giving the former first-round pick a 25 percent chance of playing.
"I was hoping he'd be better than that, but we'll see how it goes," Ryan said. "I know he's uncomfortable trying to get used to the shoe. There;s some pain there. He's working at it, but he's listed as doubtful for the game."
As for Jets receiver Percy Harvin, who suffered an ankle injury last week versus the Vikings, the receiver practiced on a limited basis. While Harvin never ran full speed, he practiced without any form of brace or taping. The wideout has said multiple times he plans to play, but Ryan said he'd be a game-time decision.
"It's unbelievable how he's healing from it," Ryan said. "Will he be able to go? I'm not totally sure, but I've been impressed with him. I knew he was doing everything possible so he could try to play but this is over the top. Even his teammates have recognized that.
Aside from Harvin, safety Antonio Allen is also listed as questionable while he deals with a broken hand. Ryan said Allen appeared to be in considerable pain Friday, but did take part in portions of practice.
Tight end Jace Amaro (concussion), guard Willie Colon (knee), kicker Nick Folk (hip), running back Chris Johnson (knee) and linebacker Trevor Reillly (concussion) are all listed as probable.
For Tennessee, starting quarterback Zach Mettenberger has been ruled out with a right shoulder injury. Starting offensive tackles Taylor Lewan (ankle) and Michael Oher (toe) are doubtful. Safety Michael Griffin (back), S Daimion Stafford (concussion), T Byron Stingily (ankle), LB Kamerion Wimbley (hamstring) and WR Kendall Wright (hand) are questionable.
