How to Paint a Glass Ceramic Backsplash
- 1). Clean the surface of the tile backsplash completely. If you do not, your newly applied paint will not adhere properly to the surface. Mix oxygen bleach powder with enough water to make a paste. Scrub the mixture onto tiles with a brush, focusing on the grout. Rinse clean and allow to dry.
- 2). Tape off the grout with an acrylic masking tape if you do not want it painted.
- 3). Apply the paint to the tile backsplash in whatever way you wish. You can use a brush or roller to paint the entire surface. Using a small brush and a stencil, you can also paint on a design to match your decor. You could also sponge on two or three different colors for a mottled effect. If you choose the sponge technique, allow each color to dry before applying the next.
- 4). Using a clean brush, apply a urethane sealer on top of the painted tiles after they have dried. This will seal them against water damage and peeling.
