• The Microsoft HDD-00001 USB cable is the genuine Zune cable that comes with the Zune when you purchase it. Like other Zune cables, this cable has a larger dock connection that connects to the Zune. The other end of the cable is a normal male USB input jack.

Connection

• Connecting a Zune to a computer with a USB cable is simple. First, insert the dock connection end of the Zune USB cable into the dock port on the bottom of the Zune. Connect the other end of the cable into one of your computer's USB ports. The computer will now install the appropriate drivers needed for the computer to see your Zune.
  
  

Disconnection

• Disconnecting the Zune from the computer is equally easy connecting it to the computer. Click the "Start" button on the computer desktop. Click the "Computer" link on the start menu. Right-click the "Zune" device drive that you see on the next window and click "Eject." Pull the USB cable out of the Zune to complete the disconnection.
