Interphone F5 Handle Bar Remote Control - One Of A Kind

103 19
Many motorcyclists debate the safety of riding with Bluetooth headsets on or in the helmet.
While clearly music, phone, GPS and intercom conversations can be a distraction, Interphone has made a way to allow the rider to keep his hands on the handle bars rather than reaching up to the helmet to control the headset functions.
The handlebar remote control is compatible with the F5 model only and not any of the other Interphone Bluetooth headsets or other brands.
It mounts on the left grip and the single joystick provides all of the functionality of the 5 buttons on the Bluetooth headset module without having to reach up and touch the Interphone F5 on the helmet.
It is a great feature and really sets the F5 apart from any other motorcycle Bluetooth headset on the market.
Having the ability to change between the intercom, music or setup is as easy as changing the volume and all this is done with just the thumb on a short joystick.
Since the Interphone F5 has 4 buttons around a center button in a North, East, South, and West orientation the 4 directions on on the joystick plus pushing the joystic inward corresponds well and there is very little learning curve if you already are familiar with the F5 controls.
Installing the Interphone Handle Bar Remote It comes with 2 handle bar clasps to fit standard or oversized grips / bars.
To prevent theft Interphone uses a 3 way (Y shaped) screw head instead of Phillips and provides a 3 way driver as well as 2 extra screws for backup.
Both the clamp side and the remote side of the unit have foam padding to prevent scratching or slipping on your bars.
The Interphone remote control is powered by 2 small batteries and uses a motion sensor to switch on and off.
Batteries are expected to last 6-12 months depending on the amount of riding you do.
The batteries must be installed prior to first use and Interphone provides a small Phillips screw driver as well as 2 backup screws in case you lose them.
Pairing The Remote To The Interphone F5 Pairing the remote to the Interphone F5 headset must be done one time and is pretty straight forward.
It pairs like any other device with the F5.
With the Interphone F5 headset off, hold the power / multi-function button until the red and blue lights flash alternating.
Then hold the joystick on the REMOTECONTROLF upwards and hold it in this position for at least 10 seconds.
The LED flashes on the remote will slow down and once paired the Interphone F5 headset gives a voice prompt saying pairing is complete.
Summary We believe this remote really sets the Interphone F5 apart and is a great option.
While most people won't spend the extra $129 for it those who are accustomed to having controls on their Goldwings or Ultra Classics may find this to be exactly what they are looking for when switching to a Bluetooth Motorcycle Headset.
