- 1). Open the hood to access the battery. Locate the battery toward the front of the engine compartment.
- 2). Disconnect the positive and negative terminal from the battery with a socket wrench. Pull the battery cables away from the computer.
- 3). Leave the battery disconnected for an hour. This will give the electrical components a chance to lose their electrical charge. Press the horn button to fully release the electrical charge.
- 4). Connect the positive and negative cable to the battery. Ensure the red cable connects to the positive terminal of the battery. Connect the negative cable to the remaining terminal. Tighten the cables with a socket wrench.
- 5). Close the hood and start the car. The car's computer will be reset.
