  Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, sits on the edge of a large, private, man-made lake. The resident population of the town is small, with most of the city's income coming from the visitors who vacation there during the summer months. While there are quite a few houses residing on the lake (mostly used as permanent vacation homes), there are a few places for visitors new to the area to stay.
  
  

Earthshine Mountain Lodge

• The Earthshine Mountain Lodge is a two-story wooden lodge situated in a secluded area of Lake Toxaway on an 83-acre farm that borders a national forest. Each room in the Earthshine has its own private bathroom and is designed with a different theme. The lodge also has a nearby cottage available for rent that has three different family suites to choose from.
  
  

Seven Foxes

• Seven Foxes is a series of five cabins that visitors can rent. Each cabin comes equipped with full kitchens, satellite TVs and private porches. One of the cabins, the Deer Lodge, also comes with an outdoor hot tub. The cabins sit on seven acres of forest, and each one has its own specific interior design.
  
  

Greystone Inn

• The Greystone Inn sits on the coast of the northwest side of Lake Toxaway in a gorgeous six-level mansion that was constructed back in 1915. There are a total of 33 rooms for guests to choose from, each offering access to the inn's tennis facilities, a country breakfast, afternoon tea and a seven-course dinner. Guests are also welcome to take part in a lake cruise and a free round of golf at the nearby Toxaway Country Club.
