How to Remove a Rearview Mirror Mount
- 1). Wipe off the outer windshield using glass cleaner and a paper towel. Make sure that the windshield is completely clean and free of any and all debris.
- 2). Using the heat gun, heat up the windshield on the outside. Hold the heat gun eight to 12 inches away from the windshield. Set the heat gun on a low-medium heat and wave the heat gun across the area where the glue compound is in a side-to-side motion.
- 3). Using the razor blade, scrape the glue compound off the windshield and pull the rearview mirror mount off the windshield. Scrape the glue compound completely off the windshield to clean the windshield.
