Bill and Denise (the owners) gave us a flyer and invited us to visit. We RV camped there in February 2006.
Describe your camping trip:
This is not like any other campground we have ever seen. We were ready to sell our motorhome and not camp anymore when we found Williston Crossings. The first year we signed up for one week, extended it to two weeks, changed to one month and then ended up staying for three months.
The next winter we stayed for six months, and this winter we are staying for seven months. If it wasn't for family back in Ohio, we would move here full time. The owners, the other campers, the scenery, the cleanliness and location all together make this the best of the best. Bill and Denise make you feel like family.
Pros: Everything. It is really fun to watch the progress that has been made each time we return. Bill would rather lose a campsite than cut down the trees.
Cons: The only thing wrong is that it is 1036 miles from our home in Ohio, but what a great feeling when we see the turn-off on I-75 that says Williston.
Nearby attractions: Antique shops, Florida's only quilt museum, Silver Springs Nature's Theme Park, Butterfly Rain Forest at the University of Florida, Manatee at Homosassa Springs and much more.
Further comments:
Grocery stores, restaurants, drugstores, banks and downtown are all within walking distance. This park has been rated #10 in the nation. When it is completed, it will be #1 without a doubt.
