How to Troubleshoot the Bissell Powerlifter Powerbrush

    • 1). Check that the Bissell is plugged into a power outlet and that the switch is in the "On" position if the Powerlifter doesn't work.

    • 2). Empty the collection tank if there's no suction in the brush. Unclip the tank, then pour the collected water away and re-seat the tank. Check that the power unit is properly attached. The carrying handle should hold the tank unit and motor unit in place by locking.

    • 3). Straighten the hoses that connect between the tank unit and the brush if you continue to experience problems with the brush. Look for obstructions by unhooking the hose, straightening it and looking down it. If you see obstructions, poke a broom handle through the tube until the handle forces the obstruction out of one end.

    • 4). Clean the brush under running water if problems continue. Pull any hair or debris out of the brush and look for any obstructions in the brush itself. Remove hair by pulling at it with your hands.
