Yesterday, Helen and Martin from Create Click attended Vaynerworld which is Gary Varnerchuk's UK book launch of Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook! In London!
We thought it would be appropriate to start this article by explaining who Gary Vaynerchuk is for those that don't know.
Gary Vaynerchuk was born in Belarus 1975 during the Soviet Union. However, 3 years later in 1978 his family and him moved to Edison, New Jersey. He graduated from Mount Ida College in Newton MA and then went on to transform his fathers New Jersey liquor store into a retail wine store he called Wine Library.
In 2006, Gary started a video blog called Wine Library TV which was a daily internet podcast in which he talked about wine. In 2009 however, Gary announced he would be stepping down from the daily wine videos to focus all of his attention on VaynerMedia, a social media brand consulting agency that he co-founded in the spring of 2009 with his brother AJ.
In 2009 Gary released a book titled "Crush it! Why now is the time to cash in on your Passion". Astoundingly, this book climbed onto being the #1 Amazon best seller list for web marketing books as well as opening at #2 on the New York Times Hardcover Advice bestseller list and #7 on the Wall Street Journal and Bestseller list.
In short, Gary is an entrepreneur and a businessman that is excellent at what he does. His skill as he mentioned in the book launch last night, is making money.
Our journey to Vayneworld started at 2:30pm with a coach trip which took us just under 2 hours leaving us plenty of time to navigate our way through the London Underground and to the venue of the event.
Once we arrived at the event, we had about 30 mins left to wait, but we managed to get a free glass of wine and we even managed to sneak into the exclusive event we didn't have a ticket for (don't tell anyone though)!
During the break we went to the nearby cafe' to wait for the QA with Gary to start. But as we were walking outside to grab some food from a nearby restaurant (where Martin tried an Olive for the first time, did not enjoy!) we saw Gary Vaynerchuk! Who was extremely pleasant when Helen asked for a sneaky pic.
