- 1). Click "Start" on your computer.
- 2). Type "cmd.exe" into the "Search" box and press "Enter". This will open a new command prompt window on your monitor.
- 3). Type the words "IPCONFIG / Release" (with no quotes) into the command prompt and hit "Enter." This will release your current IP address with your AT&T U-Verse connection. This may cause your Internet connection to temporarily disable itself.
- 4). Type the words "IPCONFIG / Renew" (with no quotes) into the command prompt and hit "Enter." This will assign a new IP address to your AT&T U-Verse modem.
