How to Hide Elements Once You Are Logged Into Joomla
- 1). Log into the administrative side of your website. For joomla, the administrative back-end usually has the web address of yoursite.com/administrative. Change yoursite.com to your website's web address. Type in the username and password you choose when you set up Joomla on your website. Click on "Login."
- 2). Click on "Menu" and then "Main Menu" in the top menu bar to hide menu items. The menu item manager screen appears. Scroll through the listed menu items until you find the one(s) you want to hide. Click the checkbox next to the menu items to be hidden to select them. Click on "Unpublish."
- 3). Click on "Content" and then "Article Manager" to hide article in Joomla. The article manager appears. Click on the check box next to the articles that you don't want to show on the front-end of your website. Click on the "Unpublish" button at the top right side of the screen. The articles will no long be seen when visitors visit your site. You can also archive articles to hide them from the front-end by clicking on "Archive" instead of "Unpublish."
- 4). Click on "Extensions" and then "Module Manager" to hide modules on your website. Modules are containers that add design or content to a site. For instance, a module can be weather information you add to your website as an extra benefit for your site visitors. Click on the check box next to the modules you want to hide and then click on "Disable."
- 5). Click on "Extensions" and the "Plug-in Manager" to disable plug-ins that you may have install on your Joomla site. An example of a plug-in is the extra function that adds a Facebook "like" button on every article on your site so you can benefit from some of Facebook's visitor traffic. Click the check box next to the plug-in you no longer want to function on your website. Click on the "Disable" button in the top right section.
