How to Replace the Fuel Bulb in a 2002 Dodge Caravan
- 1). Open the hood of the Dodge Caravan, and use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. If the battery is not disconnected, the airbag may be deployed when you replace the fuel light bulb.
- 2). Uninstall the two screws on the upper portion of the dashboard using a Phillips screwdriver.
- 3). Remove the upper trim from the vehicle.
- 4). Remove the four screws from the lower portion of the dashboard underneath the steering wheel.
- 5). Remove the lower trim from the vehicle.
- 6). Lower the steering wheel all the way to its lowest position.
- 7). Remove the four screws securing the instrument panel to the vehicle.
- 8). Pull the instrument panel out of the vehicle, and disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the panel.
- 9). Remove the fuel light bulb by rotating it counterclockwise. Place the new bulb onto the instrument panel by rotating it clockwise.

Place the instrument panel back into the vehicle, and reinstall the four screws securing it. Reattach the dashboard trim, and reinstall the screws. Reconnect the negative terminal to the battery, and close the hood.
