Teklanika River Campground, affectionately known as "Tek," is the second largest campground in Denali Park and the furthest location for RVs to camp. Tek offers 53 sites for tents or RV's and is the only place private vehicles are permitted beyond mile 15 of the park, although some conditions apply. A Tek Pass is recommended for campers to purchase for a one-time fee that allows travel via shuttle bus for the duration of their stay. Water for drinking is available at Tek but not for showers or laundry facilities and restrooms are scattered throughout the campground. Light a camp fire in the site's established grate and use the picnic table for meals while watching for red squirrels, gray jays and snowshoe hares. Moose, caribou and grizzlies may visit, so food lockers are provided for campers without a vehicle.
