How to Complete the Seven Tombs Quest in Diablo 2
- 1). Complete the Radament's Lair quest to retrieve the Horadric Scroll; give it to Cain to initiate the Horadric Staff quest. Complete the Horadric Staff and Tainted Sun quests, then transmute the Horadric Shaft and Viper Amulet in the Horadric Cube to create the Horadric Staff. Complete the Arcane Sanctuary quest to access the Arcane Sanctuary, then complete the Summoner quest to access the Canyon of the Magi.
- 2). Activate the Waypoint in the Canyon of the Magi, then return to town and speak with Cain to activate the Seven Tombs quest.
- 3). Return to the Canyon of the Magi. Check your quest log (by pressing "Q") to discover the true symbol of Tal Rasha's tomb, then match it to one of the Seven Tombs. (You can explore the other six tombs to gain experience and treasure, but they are difficult areas with many monsters to defeat.)
- 4). Enter Tal Rasha's true tomb and fight your way to the Horadric Orifice. Place the Horadric Staff in the orifice to open a doorway to the inner tomb of Tal Rasha.
- 5). Fight and kill Duriel, the demon inhabiting Tal Rasha's tomb. He is one of the most dangerous enemies in the game (although his power was significantly reduced in v. 1.09 and above), and has an annoying cold attack that can't be resisted (although you can limit its effectiveness with equipment that reduces freezing duration.)
- 6). Explore Tal Rasha's tomb. Click on the angel Tyrael to free him from his imprisonment. He will tell you that Baal and Diablo have escaped and open a portal to Lut Gholein.
- 7). Return to Lut Gholein and talk to Jheryn. He will instruct you to go east. Talk to Meshif at the docks; he will take you to the next town, Kurast Docktown, for Act III.
