Theater Debut:
Emily Blunt made her theatrical debut as Gwen Cavendish starring opposite Dame Judi Dench in Sir Peter Hall's production of The Royal Family. She won her first Evening Standard Award for Best Newcomer for her performance.
Film Debut:
After many roles on television serials, Emily Blunt made her film debut in Pawel Pawlikowski's My Summer of Love. She played the beautiful and manipulative Tasmin, who seduces a local girl into an obsessive friendship. She shared an Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer with co-star Nathalie Press.
Break Out Role:
Emily Blunt starred opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in the box-office hit The Devil Wears Prada. Entertainment Weekly named her the Best Female Scene-Stealer for her hilarious performance.
