Emily Blunt was born February 23 1983, in London, England. She is one of four children. Her father is a lawyer and her mother a teacher. Blunt's uncle is Crispin Blunt, a member of Parliament.

Theater Debut:

Emily Blunt made her theatrical debut as Gwen Cavendish starring opposite Dame Judi Dench in Sir Peter Hall's production of The Royal Family. She won her first Evening Standard Award for Best Newcomer for her performance.

Film Debut:

After many roles on television serials, Emily Blunt made her film debut in Pawel Pawlikowski's My Summer of Love. She played the beautiful and manipulative Tasmin, who seduces a local girl into an obsessive friendship. She shared an Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer with co-star Nathalie Press.

Break Out Role:

Emily Blunt starred opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in the box-office hit The Devil Wears Prada. Entertainment Weekly named her the Best Female Scene-Stealer for her hilarious performance.

Upcoming Roles:

Emily Blunt has numerous films slated for release in 2008. She co-stars with Amy Adams in Sunshine Cleaning which will make it's world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. She has a leading role in Jean-Marc Vallée's period drama The Young Victoria and stars opposite Tom Hanks in Sean McGinly's The Great Buck Howard.
