- 1). Soak the necklace in jewelery cleaner for 5 minutes and wipe it dry with the soft cloth. Let it air dry 15 minutes or until it is completely dry.
- 2). Smooth the bur from the necklace using the tip of you finger with emery cloth wrapped around it. Make a very small side to side motion. Run your finger over the area with the bur to test for smoothness. Use light pressure so you do not damage the gold.
- 3). Hold a piece of crocus cloth snugly on your fingertip and polish the area of the necklace where you just removed the bur.
- 4). Dip the necklace in the jewelery cleaner again to remove grit left behind by the emery cloth and crocus cloth.
