What it Takes in Melaleuca - Part I

103 30
So you want to build a successful Melaleuca business.
Or maybe you just joined Melaleuca?  You believe you found a company with products you love, a philosophy you believe in, and officers at the top you can trust.
You truly believe what you have to offer is as valuable to others as you have found it for yourself.
And like any new "baby" it requires time, care, and attention.
So you become a "product of the product", attend the Melaleuca meetings, trainings, conferences, and do required reading to get up to speed.
And all this happens within the first 30 days...
Then, like the smell of a new car, the newness of your Melaleuca business wears off.
Some of that initial excitement fades and you are stuck sitting there wondering, "What was I thinking!?"    Do you really have what it takes?   I guess that question can only be answered if you know what exactly is required to build a monstrous Melaleuca organization.
So let's lay it out there...
Money, Skill, The Right Mindset, Right Action   Now these are not exactly light topics.
So in this article I will cover the first two requirements.
Look for the remaining two in my next article.
Money   Now, I know, most people who want to make money don't have tons of money to sink into a venture.
However, if you are going to take growing your Melaleuca business seriously, you must realize that investment is part of the deal.
The initial funds that you spent to sign up is not all that is required to grow a huge Melaleuca organization.
Incremental or sometimes steady investment is required.
That is true of ANY business - be it home-based or traditional.
So a realistic expectation of what it takes financially is essential.
Remember, there are HUGE returns possible for your investment.
  Skill   Next is skill set.
As with anything that we endeavor to do, we may require some teaching or training to get us started.
This is a tricky thing for the network marketing industry.
It has become big business to train new entrepreneurs.
Many claim to be the "Top Dawg" in this arena.
Finding an organization with a proven track record of results and effectiveness in teaching their methods to others is key.
Considering that most in Melaleuca and the network marketing industry as a whole never make a profit (which explains the over 97% failure rate), anyone starting in network marketing should consider getting  "on the job training" for atleast the first year.
  Be teachable.
To think otherwise is to fall prey to some sort of get-rich quick scheme mentality that is certainly a contributing factor to the industry failure rate.
If you are looking for fast cash - bet on a horse or buy a scratch ticket.
A Melaleuca business may not be for you.
Self-Evaluation Time   This is where the rubber meets the road, folks.
This is where you have to look hard at your Melaleuca business and see if you truly have what it takes to make it to the finish line.
And if you don't, do you have the drive & desire to seek out what you need to get you there?  Only you can answer these questions for YOU.
Sometimes though, it is helpful to have a sounding board.
If I can help you cycle this in your head, or point you in the right direction for the help for your Melaleuca business, don't hesitate to reach out! And be on the look-out for Part II!
