103 13
Premier League match arrives at Molineux when Wolves host Wigan on boxing day, in match week 19.
Both the teams should be well-rested with their respective games in match week 18 postponed owing to snow.
Wolves, firmly entrenched in 19th place in the points table and struggling with injury concerns, recorded a creditable 1-0 win over Birmingham at home, when they last played in match week 17.
With their stars such as Doyle, Henry and Jarvis sidelined with injury, Wolves' young bench players rose to the occasion.
The defence stood up to Birmingham's attack, as the Blues tried in vain for an equaliser, after Hunt gave McCarthy's charges the lead, on the break.
Ebanks-Blake brought his experience to bear, up front, in a game result that augurs well for the Molineux squad as we approach the second half of the season.
Wigan stole a point in their away game against Everton in match week 17.
While Al Habsi had a great day between Latics' posts, Watson and Thomas ensured midfield control.
And if Howards had capitalised on a cross from Stam, late in the game, Wigan could have taken away three points from the game.
In the event, Howards's shot from point blank range went over the post.
Wolves have met Wigan five times in league matches over the past six years, and the Latics have established a 3-1 advantage in those games.
The last game on October 2 was hosted by Wigan, a match the hosts won 2-0.
Wolves' home record has been mixed with  four wins, two draws and three losses in nine games hosted at Molineux.
Wigan have had a poor away record, winning just the one game in eight, on the road, while losing four and drawing three.
On current form, this should be a close game with both sides seeking a win to help get away from the relegation mine.
The following players were in Wolves' starting eleven against Birmingham: Hennessey, Zubar, Berra, Stearman, Elokobi, Foley, Edwards, Milijas, Ward, Hunt and Ebanks-Blake.
Fletcher played as a substitute.
Wigan had the following men in their starting eleven against Everton:Al Habsi, Gohouri, Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa, Thomas, Diame, N'Zogbia, Watson, Cleverley and Rodallega.
McArthur and Stam played as substitutes.
