Something that I discovered early on in my relationship building campaign is that if you consistently give free gifts your list will appreciate it.
You can easily tell this by monitoring your open rates when you actually send a free gift.
When I say consistently, I mean perhaps once every 2 weeks.
Something else you might notice is that the click through rate of your free gifts will be close to 100%.
You want to get as high a open rate and click through rate as you can.
Now, let's move on.
How else can you make money from your list? Hmmm! Do you twitter? Do you have a blog? These are opportunities for you to make money..

send your readers to your sales page.
Offer them a free gift, we know everyone loves free gifts, then attach your sales page to the free gift and more of your readers will be exposed to it.
You must constantly be thinking of new ways to monetize your list and increase your income.
For me list building is powerful, it's how I generate my income.

But you must put in the work.
Whatever method you use to generate your list whether it's SEO, or pay per click, make sure you become expert at it, make sure it generates the traffic you require to build your list and that way you can make big money online.
That way you can monetize your list, day in and day out, consistently and continuously.
