    Making Moisturizer with an Olive Oil Base

    • 1). Gather the fresh herbs you would like to use for your moisturizer. Be sure you are not allergic to any you select. Chop into smaller sections, and place them in an opaque container. Cover them with two to three cups of olive oil and seal.

    • 2). Once a week for three weeks, check the bottle. Shake, and make sure all herbs are fully submerged in the oil. Then reseal.

    • 3). At the end of the three weeks, pour the olive oil slowly into a fine strainer to remove all of the herbs. Clean out the strainer thoroughly, and strain again so that there are no fine particles of herbs in the oil.

    • 4). Using a funnel, pour the olive oil into a container that can be tightly stopped. It should be totally opaque, as light helps to break down the olive oil and turn it rancid. Do not make up more of the mixture than can be used in few weeks, as olive oil will not keep well indefinitely. When making a new batch, be sure to thoroughly wash out the container before refilling for the same reason.
