- 1). Download anti-spyware software. A link to one trusted program has been provided in the Resources section. For the average computer user, this is the best route to take, as the program will take care of spyware removal for you.
- 2). Back up your system registry before taking any risky steps if you plan to remove Aveo Attune without the aid of software.
- 3). Terminate the adware's process in Task Manager. Attune will usually show up as the following processes: attunel.exe and auninst.exe. Highlight these programs and click 'End'.
- 4). Go to the Start menu and clock 'Run'. Type in REGSVR32 -u <Dll_name>. Click OK. Replace <Dll_name> with: %ProgramFiles%\aveo\attune\updater1\0409\lang.dll
- 5). Repeat the process by replacing <Dll_name> with: %ProgramFiles%\aveo\attune\updater1\aclui.dll
- 6). Go to the Start menu and click 'Run'. Type in regedit. Click OK. Find and delete these subkeys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\attune download
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\aveo\attunedownload
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\attune download
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\attune - 7). Go to Internet Explorer and delete the directory: %ProgramFiles%\aveo\attune\
